Antelope Canyon, Arizona
Navajo Upper Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest, on Navajo land east of Lechee, Arizona. It includes five separate, scenic slot canyon sections on the Navajo Reservation, referred to as Upper Antelope Canyon. Photographed in December 2021 in the middle of the COVID-19 lockdowns.
These canyons were formed by the erosion of the Navajo sandstone by flash floods and sand over thousands of years. Finding the right light inside these dark canyons can be challenging but well worth the wait.
The sands of time.
